Description:The inner layer of stomach is the gastric mucosa covered by mucous, which is secreted by a layer of simple columnar epithelial cells lining the lumen of stomach. The gastric epithelium invaginate to form gastric pits that connect to various glands that synthesis and secrete stomach juice.
Types of epithelial cells in stomach
Stomach epithelial cells consists of mucous cells, stomach epithelium chief cells, parietal cells and gastrin cells (G cells) that extends from stomach surface into gastric pits and glands. Injury, inflammation, or bacterial infection, especially Helicobacter pylori infection, on stomach can stimulate stomach epithelial cells proliferation and renewal.

Shortly after isolation, cells are cryopreserved at passage 3 in AcceGen cell culture media to ensure best quality. Each vial contains >5×10^5 cells in 1 ml volume. Our gastric epithelial cells culture can further expand for 2-4 passages at a split ration of 1:2 or 1:3 following AcceGen recommended protocol and culture conditions. Cells can form coherent monolayer and develop tight junction in AcceGen cell culture media with expression of epithelial marker cytokeratin and junction-associated marker E-cadherin or ZO-1.
